Após dias pra lá de cansativos em Aruba, voamos num teco-teco para a maior ilha do arquipélago das Antilhas Holandesas: Curaçao. O voo dura apenas vinte minutos e nas alturas pode-se apreciar a beleza natural do país.
Vale ressaltar que Curaçao está fora da rota de furacões! Ainda bem!
Nosso primeiro destino (e único) chama-se: Kontiki Dive & Beach Resort. Um maravilhoso hotel recém inaugurado situado em Kontiki Beach club. É um dos melhores locais de Curaçao para descansar e curtir.
Devido a pouca sinalização para os quartos, era fato se perder ou até mesmo escolher o caminho errado (ou certo!) para piscina natural! Foi lá que até rolou uma “briga de galo feminina” com direito a torcida italiana!
Falando do Beach...A idéia era chegar e treinar! Mas peraí, onde estão as quadras? Diferente de Aruba, onde existem quadras fixas, Curaçao está apenas começando a desenvolver o Beach Tennis e lá as quadras foram montadas apenas para o evento.
Margie Bon-Regales e B.T Aruba são responsáveis pela organização e desenvolvimento do esporte no país.
A 1ª quadra foi inaugurada em Cabana Beach (foto da inauguração). BOM BALA!! Com muita dedicação, empenho e simpatia, Margie cortou a fita! Vini, Mingozzi, Mike & Cia fizeram um jogo pra lá de divertido!
Nessa noite também começava (ou continuava) mais um “ Open Bar”! Que terminou no “BUS PARTY”! A festa no “busão” era comandada pelo motorista a la Bob Marley, o qual ia parando em vários pontos da cidade. Teve até vira-vira de “Listerine” e “Rap das Armas” em praça pública. Além de muitas fotos tiradas!
No sábado dia 21 de novembro começou o torneio. Adão ajudou Margie a “criar”as quadras de Beach Tennis. E não é que conseguiram! Após deslocar alguns banhistas e curiosos que estávam em lua de mel ou passando férias com a família em Curaçao, eles montaram 5 quadras!
Cada quadra pertencia a um bar: Cabana, Mambo e Aloha. Não sei realmente eleger a melhor, mas na semifinal onde Paula e Luciana perderam, o mar chegou a invadir! Elas alcançaram a semifinal no feminino avançado e deixaram escapar a vitória no tie-break. Mas, fizeram bonito!
Falconi arrumou parceiro na última hora e quase perdeu por W.O. Sua dupla era o Koen, holandês e organizador do torneio. Comunicando-se através de gestos e pouquíssimas palavras conquistaram o vice-campeonato na categoria dupla masculina iniciantes.
Sandra e Rodrigo bem que “tentaram perder o voo de volta” para o Brasil e tiveram que desistir na semifinal do torneio de dupla mista. Pena que não puderam ficar, pois sentimos falta da torcida e barulho nas finais contra a Itália!
Adão e Vini alcançaram a final da categoria profissional. Apesar de serem superados pelos experientes italianos Mingozzi/Mattei, deram show e esbanjaram simpatia!
Para fechar o evento, eu e Samantha entramos em quadra dispostas a desempatar o placar contra as italianas Bacchetta/ Visani. Mas não foi dessa vez. As bolas na fita de Samantha não passaram e Visani defendia todos nossos smashes! O jogo foi duro e perdemos de 6/4 6/1 na final. Revanche na Itália ou quem sabe no Brasil?
A festa recomeçava, ou melhor, nunca parava! Happy Hour no Wet & Wild Beach Club, premiação para os finalistas e muita música! “Paraparapara...papapapa!”
No Beach Tennis não tem tempo ruim. Descontração, confraternização (no final brazucas e italianos já estavam bem mais unidos), espírito de equipe e competição saudável seguem na mesma direção.
A saudade bate forte. Foram momento mágicos. Atletas de diferentes partes do planeta se encontram para competir, se divertir e unir todos num só mundo chamado: Beach Tennis.
